This policy explains what happens to personal information when you use wildstarharbor.com or write to Wild Star Harbor about a berth, a harbor visit, a day on the water or a boat repair. We have tried to describe only what the website really does. It is a small static site: it has no user accounts, no shop, no analytics and no advertising scripts.

What we collect

We collect only what you choose to send us.

• Enquiry and contact forms. Your name, email address, any phone number you enter, and your message. On the enquiry and maintenance forms this can also include details of your boat (type, length, engine), preferred dates and the work you describe.
• Email and phone. If you write to inquiry@wildstarharbor.com or call us, we receive the address or number you use and whatever you tell us.
• Activity enquiries. If you ask about a water activity, you may mention ages, swimming ability or health matters so that the operator can plan safely. Please send only what is needed, and nothing more than you are comfortable sharing.

We do not ask for payment card numbers, passwords or identity-card numbers through this website. Please do not send them.

Our server hosting may keep ordinary access logs (such as the time of a request and your IP address). We do not read them to profile visitors.

Why we use it

• To read your enquiry and reply to you by email or phone.
• To prepare a written estimate, quote or proposal for the berth, visit, activity or repair you asked about.
• If you go ahead, to arrange it with the harbor, yard or operator concerned and to keep a record of what was agreed.
• To deal with questions, complaints or disputes afterwards, and to meet legal obligations.

We do not use your details for newsletters, advertising or sale to others, and we do not use them for any purpose unrelated to the above without asking you first.

Who else sees it

formsubmit.co. The forms on this website do not send your message straight to our mailbox. They post it to formsubmit.co, a third-party form relay, which forwards it by email to inquiry@wildstarharbor.com. That service therefore receives everything you type in the form. It is operated by someone other than us, and we do not control its servers. Those servers may be outside Japan, so your information may be handled under foreign law. Its own terms and policy govern what it does. If you would rather not use it, write to us by email instead.

Harbors, yards and operators. If you ask us to arrange a berth, a repair or an activity and then confirm it, we pass on the details needed to do it, such as your name, contact details, the boat's particulars and, for activities, the safety information the operator needs. We tell you who that party is before we pass it on.

Google Fonts. Pages load two typefaces from Google (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Your browser therefore contacts Google when a page is displayed, and Google receives your IP address and browser details. This is not under our control. If your browser blocks it, the pages show in a fallback font.

Google Maps. Several pages contain a link to a Google Maps search for our address. Nothing is loaded from Google Maps unless you click it.

Apart from these, we provide personal information to other parties only with your consent or where a law or an authority requires it.

Cookies and similar storage

This website does not set cookies of its own and does not write to your browser's local storage. Details are in the Cookie Policy.

How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry email in our mailbox for as long as it is needed to deal with the matter and to answer questions that may follow. We have not set a fixed deletion schedule. You may ask us to delete it, and we will do so unless we need to keep it for a legal reason or to settle a dispute. We do not describe our systems as encrypted or specially secured, because we cannot promise more than ordinary email protection; please keep that in mind when deciding what to write.

Your rights

Under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan, you may ask us to tell you the purposes for which we use your personal data, to disclose it, to correct it if it is wrong, and to stop using it or delete it where the Act allows. To make a request, write to inquiry@wildstarharbor.com or to the postal address above. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, and we will answer within a reasonable time. We do not charge a fee for an ordinary request.

If you are unhappy with our answer, you can contact the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan (個人情報保護委員会).

Children

This website is meant for adults. If you are arranging an activity for a child, please send only what the operator needs and make the enquiry yourself as parent or guardian.

Safety of the information

We take ordinary care of our mailbox and devices. No method of sending information over the internet is risk-free, and we cannot guarantee that a message will not be lost or read by someone else on the way. If a message may not have reached us, tell us by another route.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the website does with personal information, we update this page and the date at the top. If the change is a material one, we will say so on the page for a reasonable period.
